Point Four St. Anthony's Chapel Pittsburgh

On Pentecost Sunday we traveled to Pittsburgh to visit the famous relic Chapel there founded by Father Mollinger in 1883, housing well over 4000 relics (including the tooth of St. Anthony).

Brother Stephen knew of our plan to visit on Pentecost and asked to see us. We were invited to visit and were given a tour of the Pittsburgh Oratory. We then all left together to visit St. Anthony's Chapel. The Chapel happened to be closed because of Memorial Day weekend.

Mike, Anna, and Sophie and Brother Stephen were heading towards my car while I gazed at the door to the Chapel, so very disappointed finding the Chapel closed. I requested of Brother Stephen (pleaded acutally) if he would consider using his authority to seek entrance for us through the rectory after he drew our attention to the rectory door (next to the Chapel). He tried and did gain us entry.

A young volunteer in the rectory let us in and guided us to the Chapel through Father Mollinger's dining room! It was a very memorable and exiting Blessing.

Two other groups who had traveled some distance gained entrance after we did.

God and Our Lady and all the Angels and Saints were very good to us all on Pentecost Sunday.

Miranda announced to all us that she is expecting again. After her miscarriage in January, this announcement brought great joy. Her due date is January 18, 2008, God Willing.

We went to see Pirate's of the Carabbean At World's End for the third time today. The critics are not kind but we are mad about the characters and the story.

Adrienne and Matt returned safely from their adventure to Belize with great underwater pictures of their scuba diving. They went 142 feet deep and saw small sharks, barracuda, and eels.

Have you ever been scuba diving in Belize?

Point Three At World's End

We just returned from seeing Pirates for the 2nd time. We saw the first showing last night. Anna and Sophie dressed in Pirate's attire. Does watching the movie strengthen character or do Jack Sparrow and his associates just make us happy because they are fun to watch?

Is Jack Sparrow's personallity similar to Bugs Bunny or Snoopy?

We have a busy weekend once again. We will go to Pittsburgh on Pentacost Sunday to return to the St. Anthony's relic Chapel.

Adrienne and Matt return from Belize on Saturday.

What are your plans for the weekend?

Second Point

After returning from a peaceful retreat in Poughkeepsie, Mike, Anna, Sophie and I, went to see Shrek III yesterday. It was both funny and fun.

We saw the Nationals play Baltimore at RFK and met Ade and Matt there. It was such a good game. It felt like a win even though the score ruled it a loss. Two home runs were made, Zimmerman's being the most memorable last night.

Jack and Roxie, (Ade's and Matt's cat and dog) are with us this week while they travel to Belize for recreation and scuba diving, dangerous, risky and great fun for them.

The students have left Grotto Road by order of the Bishop. For nine years the students and seminarians had use of Mary's house during the academic school year as requested by their order. Although their order will not be allowed use of the house for studies any longer, many of their possessions still remain. They left a library of books, vestments, altar articles, candles, sacramentals, and publications.

We are attending another Nats and Baltimore game tonight. Should be great fun again! Last night we were near the third base line. Tonight we will be seated near the first base line.

Have you ever been to a Major League baseball game?

First Point

We went to see Spider-Man III today. It was entertaining and well done.

Sophie thought the ending should have included Spiderman swinging from buildings. The first two movies ended that way.

What did you think of the movie?
